Woman's Bloomers HC5

Cream cotton broderie anglaise bloomers with frill at leg edge.

Named after Amelia Bloomer who popularised the garment in order to ride a bicycle modestly. During the 1850s and 1860s they were worn by women activists involved in dress reform and the women's rights movement. They became popular during the 1910s and 1920s.
