Cloche style hat made out of teal coloured satin lined with cream taffeta. Teal coloured petal shapes decorate the edges with satin bow at back. Some colour discolouration to the hat.
The cloche hat, also known as “bob”, was invented in Paris in 1908 in the atelier of milliner Caroline Reboux and it soon became an iconic object worn by the most fashionable women of the time.
Milne and Choyce was the largest department store in Queen Street, Auckland in the 1960s. It was established by Mary Jane Milne in 1866. It closed in 1973.
