Nails & Spikes HC67

A grouping of nails and spikes. Boatspikes, common framing nails, boxing nails, headless brads.

Bronze nails date back to 3400BC. Up until the 1800s nails were handmade. Cut nails also known as square nails were invented in the 1800s and were machine cut from flat sheets of steel or iron. By the 1850s nails cut from wire were introduced and they are now the dominant type of nail.
