Button Stick and Oil Container HC227


A brass button stick, made in Birmingham for the British Army. Button sticks were introduced in the 1880s and were to protect the fabric when polishing buttons.

An brass oil bottle MkII introduced in 1899 for use with all .303 magazine rifles. It comes in a leather carry case.
