A varnished wooden straight-stick baton. One end has a raised rounded handle with white cord thread through a hole and tied. These wooden batons were used by police during riots and other disturbances, mainly for self defence. In the 1980's these wooden batons were replaced by a different type of baton, which were used in the Anti-Spring Bok Tours in 1981.
