A piupiu made from dressed harakeke (flax) woven together to form the basis of a wrap around covering. The pattern has been designed by removing the outer vegetation exposing the muka (flax fibre) which is then dyed to bring out the pattern. Jute cordage has been added as a tie.
This piupiu is for a female and was used for cultural activities.
