A stoneware bed warmer cylindrical in shape with screw lid on top.
Bed warmers were filled with boiling water and placed between sheets to warm a cold bed. Bed warmers such as these were a luxury and a heated brick or stone was used by those who could not afford it. These were replaced by hot water bottles made of rubber.
