Wooden Pōtaka tā (whip top) and tā (whip) made from strips of harakeke (flax) fibre attached to a wooden handle. One is a double-pointed whip top. The whip is wound around the spinning top and then is pulled energetically to rotate the spinning top. Once the top is spinning, it is whipped so that it continues rotating. Traditional māori toy.
