Gramophone HC57


A gramophone in a mid tan box with hinged lid and two chromed closing catches.

The gramophone was invented by Emile Berliner in 1887 and was a significant improvement in sound quality. Berliner, a German, was living in America and founded the Gramophone Company which mass produced 'sound disks' for the first time. His Masters Voice H.M.V. became the trademark for the Gramophone Company in 1899.
