Army Slouch Hat HC12


A khaki felt lemon squeezer shaped slouch hat with khaki fabric band with red strip around centre. Inside hat each quarter is printed with 'Far East', 'Malaya', 'NZ 13488' and 'Sailor'.

Generally associated with the Australian military the slouch hat also referred to as a lemon squeezer was first worn by the New Zealand Army in the early 1900s. It was removed from army uniform by the late 1950s, but was returned in 2000 to be worn as part of ceremonial service dress.
