A balance weighing scale with weights. The scale consists of a pivoted horizontal lever with a weighing pan. An object for which the weight is unknown is placed in the pan and is compared with standard weights. Standard weights are circular and weigh 4oz, 8oz, and 1lb and 2lb. This scale was the first mass produced measuring device.
